TE 802 Reflecting and Inquiry in Teaching Practices I

Course Description:
This class offered insight into inquiry by creating language arts lessons. During the course, I planned and taught a two week language arts lesson to my first grade class during my student teaching. I learned to reflect on my planning and teaching to find ways to improve my strategies and techniques. Also, I realized the importance of pre-assessing and post assessing my students to collect quantitative data of my teaching to determine students' understanding.
During each step of the planning process, I was expected to differentiate my instruction and meet the academic and social needs of all 32 of my students, while being accountable to the state standards (Grade Level Content Expectations). I gained experience with lesson planning, assessing, collecting data, and presenting my findings to my peers and instructor.
